The Bald Eagle Valley Trail, named in 2018, is set to stretch about 11.7 miles
and will offer a scenic path for both walking and biking.
Currently 4 of 6 Phases are complete, adding up to just over 6 miles of trail.

The idea for the trail started with a feasibility study in the
2010 Clinton County Greenway and Open Space Plan.
The study explored the possibility of repurposing an old railroad
right-of-way to create a route that would connect Clinton County
with Lycoming County via the Tiadaghton Elm.

Not only will the trail provide more opportunities for outdoor recreation,
but it will also connect several communities within Clinton County.
Plus, it will link to the Pine Creek Valley Rail Trail at the Jersey Shore trailhead.

Once completed, you’ll be able to enjoy a bike ride or walk all the way
from Wellsboro to Lock Haven—about 81.5 miles!

During the construction phase, these peregrine falcons
were
discovered nesting on the piers of the bridge.
This of course, delayed construction, but the birds still remain in the area
and continue to nest on the bridge in their mating season.

There will be a set of viewing binoculars placed on the deck
of the bridge for the viewers to provide
an enhanced
view of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
