HARRISBURG - Clinton County Commissioner Jeff Snyder was honored with the prestigious Paul Ziegler Award at the 2024 County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania Conference (CCAP) held recently in Harrisburg.
The Ziegler Award "recognizes an outstanding individual from a PComp Member who has exhibited a commitment to their employees' safety, through risk management efforts, safety committee participation or support, and efforts to reduce injuries and improve the safety of their workplace."
Snyder has been a member of the governing board of the Pennsylvania Counties Workers Compensation Trust Program, known as PComp, for the past eight years and has served as secretary treasurer for the past six years.
Named in honor of Paul Zeigler, former counsel to the PComp Board of Trustees, the award is the most prestigious award given by CCAP Insurance groups and includes a $4,000 monetary award for Clinton County to use for future risk management and safety training.
Lawrence County Commissioner Dan Vogler, the current Chairman of the PComp Board of Trustees, and Desiree J. Nguyen, Managing Director, Insurance Programs for CCAP, made the surprise presentation to Snyder.
The PComp Board, the governing body of the Pennsylvania Counties Workers Compensation Trust (PComp) consists of 15 members - 7 appointed by the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP), 6 elected by PComp members and two county related entity representatives appointed by the PComp Board.
The Trust provides Workers' Compensation Coverage for employees of counties and county-related entities and services to 52 members - 37 counties and 15 county-related entities.
