Harding: COVID tests at MH Pharmacy

Post Date:10/08/2021 9:06 AM

The Mill Hall Pharmacy is currently offering COVID tests to the public who need them. The offer was announced during the Clinton County Commissioners Meeting yesterday.

Commissioner Angela Harding said that the test is free for everyone with no age requirement and is a saliva based test. However, she was unclear with how long the opportunity will last.

For those who need to get a test, call (570) 726-3213 to register. Harding added that the tests will be given either curbside or via their drive-through window.

Commissioners also voted on the consideration of approval of a three-year intergovernmental agreement with the U.S. Marshals Service. The agreement will allow the housing of up to 175 facility inmates per day at the Clinton County Correctional Facility for an amount of $82 per day per inmate. Along with the $82 per day, an hourly rate of $35 for guard/transportation services will be given effective upon full execution by both parties.

Chairman Miles Kessinger cleared up any possible confusion that would go along with the correctional facility's maximum increase.

"We are not saying we're taking 175 inmates at this time. That is just what the maximum amount allowable is. The current rate is $75 dollars a day, we're getting a $7 dollar a day increase per inmate," he explained before passing the vote.
